Brittany Expedition

We will base ourselves near the beautiful Pointe du Raz, at a camping/caravan site well positioned to choose the best surf break each day to make the most of the conditions. You will have the opportunity to test your surf kayak skills at break such as Baie des Treppasses, Saint Turgen, Pointe de Dinan, La Palue, Kerloch, La Torche.

We will catch the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff with the SKC van and trailer and so you can bring your own surf kayak on our trailer if you wish. During the week we can indulge in some of the local cuisine and visit some amazing villages. This will be a spectacular week of paddling and one we look forward to all year. The campsite we use offers Glamping which we reserve for you as it is great value and saves you having to bring camping gear with you.

Experience needed
The course is aimed at BCU 4*(not compulsory) paddlers looking to surf kayak in intermediate/advanced surf conditions and push their surfing performance. White water or freestyle kayakers that are comfortable in grade 4 white water or sea kayakers that paddled in advanced surf conditions with strong roll are also welcome. During the course you will be surfing in wave up to 5ft high or up to and above double over head when sitting a kayak.

What if the surf goes flat on the course?
Over the duration of the week surf conditions will vary. Whenever possible we will try and surf kayak where the waves are best and choses a surf break that considers the whole groups ability. If there are any flat periods during the week we will use this opportunity to explore Brittany beautiful villages, coastline and quinine. We will also be taking sea kayaks so if there is really no surf or poor surfing conditions then we can exploit the amazing sea kayaking Brittany has to offer you really won’t be short of time on the water!!
